Our Story
Swimmable has been a fixture of the Cape Town swimming community since 2013. Founded with a simple belief that every person deserves the chance to feel confident in the water, we've grown into one of Cape Town's most trusted swim schools.
A new chapter began in 2017, bringing fresh energy and a renewed commitment to quality instruction and community. Today, Swimmable offers lessons for babies as young as 3 months through to adult beginners, in our warm, family-friendly facility at Gardens Centre.

- Aqua Sensory Certified Swim School, specialist classes for children with sensory processing needs
- Hypo-allergenic pool, ozone filtration with salt chlorination. No chlorine rashes. No red eyes. Heated to 32°C.
- European health & safety standards, operated to the same standards as the best swim schools in Europe
- Indoor, purpose-built pool, a warm, sheltered space made for learning to swim

Robert Doolan
(Head Coach/Management)
Robert began his teaching journey in Pretoria, quickly finding a deep passion for coaching. He is dedicated to helping his students gain confidence and develop new skills. For Robert, there's nothing more rewarding than seeing his young swimmers leave each session with big smiles, proud of what they've achieved. Their joy and growth continue to inspire his work every day.
Marcelle Esterhuizen
(Head Coach/Management)
Marcelle, a mom herself, truly believes that learning to swim is more than just a fun activity, it's a vital life skill. Growing up near the water in Hout Bay, she discovered her deep passion for swimming and the belief that everyone should learn to love it. She has wholeheartedly embraced this mission in her coaching. With her warm and supportive approach, Marcelle embodies the SWIM LEARN PLAY mantra, inspiring swimmers of all ages.
Donovan Harris
Donovan began his coaching journey in Bloemfontein in 2017 and quickly discovered his passion for swimming and coaching. He takes great pride in helping swimmers develop essential skills while enjoying every step of their journey. For Donovan, there's nothing more rewarding than seeing swimmers leave the pool with confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Their progress and joy inspire his work every day.
Zime Le Grange
Zime is the newest addition to the Swimmable team, her vibrant energy brings a refreshing spark to every lesson. Her enthusiasm and friendly nature make swimmers feel instantly comfortable, creating an environment filled with fun, confidence, and encouragement. For Zime, seeing her swimmers smile, grow, and gain self-assurance in the water is the most rewarding part of coaching. Her lively spirit and genuine passion make her a perfect fit for the Swimmable family.
Prince and Bruno
Prince and Bruno are essential members of our Operations Team. Their dedication ensures that our pool is always in pristine condition, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Beyond maintaining the pool, they take great pride in keeping the entire premises clean, tidy, and inviting. Additionally, they run the Swimmable Tuckshop/Café. Their hard work and attention to detail play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere that our community appreciates every day.

Accreditations
Swimmable is an STA-accredited swim school and an Aqua Sensory certified centre. The Aqua Sensory training shapes how our teachers work with children who find busy, noisy environments difficult, and it informs the calm, predictable structure we keep in every lesson.
